Training & Assessment
Megan is available on a pro rata basis as a stand-in trainer for established ecotourism or
field guide training institutes. She is also available to initiate and conduct training
programs in situ (i.e. at the actual game lodge or reserve). Megan is a Theta and FGASA
accredited assessor and can assess candidates for FGASA level 1, 2 and 3. In this regard
she is available to arrange a visit to the candidate’s place of work. She is also available to
lodges to assess their teams for national compliancy.
African Resource is a resource available to the media industry for wildlife documentary and
television productions. Offerings include research material, scripts and storyline writing and
general wildlife consulting. Megan has been involved in producing numerous documentaries for
channels such as Animal Planet and National Geographic most notably the one hour special
'Valley of the Golden Baboon' which she assistant produced including co-scripting and all
research.
Megan is available to do free-lance and commissioned editorial work for magazine
publications and books. Her editorial and photographic work has been featured many
times in various local and international publications. These include Africa Geographic
Africa Geographic,
Country Life, Sawubona Magazine, African Sporting Gazette and Good Taste Magazine.
Megan produces mostly feature pieces on wildlife, conservation issues and travel. She
has contributed especially regularly to the South African wildlife publication Africa
Geographic which reaches 160 000 readers every month, half of which are outside Africa.
The magazine features in 230 game lodges and hotels. Megan is the co-author of the
anecdotal book 'Whatever you do, don't run' and author of the interpretative guide to
the Lowveld '
